Elderly Care Program
New Year with Senior Citizens In Antique
OPEC Panay Lontian Gems together with Belison Municipal Police Station celebrated New Year by giving gifts to the beloved lola and lolo’s of Barangay Salvacion, Belison, Antique on January 4, 2020.
A pack of grocery items and ML giveaways were given to the beneficiaries. They were also treated to a surprise song performance by branch manager Beejay Cabalquinto to entertain the crowd. Police Lieutenant Haidee and OPEC VP-External Irice Joy Paloma then gave their inspirational messages to the elderly.
This noble activity aims to give joy to the elderly who have worked hard for the welfare of their family. With warm hugs and smiles from the elders, this program reminds everyone to be grateful to their grandparents.
Comfort for the Elders of St. Joseph’s Golden Home Foundation
The elders of St. Joseph’s Golden Home Foundation Inc., a non-profit charitable foundation that is being run through donations from private sectors and local government units were visited and entertained by M Lhuillier OPEC Kagayan team on January 24, 2020.
Most of the elders have health issues and disabilities such as blindness and paralysis, while some of them were rescued by nuns and some who have been purposely abandoned by their families. Through the foundation, they have found a home and a sense of security and love. Blankets, supplements, milk and a plate of spaghetti, which they requested before the visit, were distributed to them. The nuns, nurses, and the elders were genuinely grateful to OPEC Kagayan for the visit. There are times when people see how difficult the aging process truly is but being able to have compassion for those who need help is a priceless gift and a lifelong lesson.
