As the Philippines continues to fight through the pandemic, M Lhuillier Financial Services, Inc. stands by its goal to help every Filipino.
Though many areas in the country were hard to reach because of strict quarantine measures, M Lhuillier pursued several outreach programs through various OPECs. With their efforts, many schools were able to receive assistance in the form of newly-built facilities, school and office supplies, among many more donations.
Distribution of School Supplies #
On August 5, 2020, OPEC Gold Dacoda handed over donations to Panalum Elementary School and Panabo National High School in Davao City. They distributed various school supplies and new normal essentials such as face masks and alcohol.
In the Panay Region, OPEC Panay Lontian Gems also donated supplies such as bond paper, ball pens, face masks, and hand towels to selected schools in Aklan and Antique. These were turned over between September 18 to 22, 2020.
As an early Christmas gift, OPEC Panay Lontian Gems partnered with the Young of Iglesia Filipina Independiente (YIFI) for another donation drive on October 25, 2020. This time, the beneficiaries were 79 families of Progreso Este, Sitio Sigkop Odiongan. As a remote area in
Romblon, residents do not have easy access to educational supplies.
Meanwhile, the OPEC Dagyang team donated school gates to Lanag Elementary School and the Igtuble Integrated School in the Municipality of Tubungan, Iloilo on November 19, 2020. The school staff received new computers and printers to help them prepare and print out modules for their students in the new normal.
OPEC Dagyang was also able to donate school and office supplies for 10 other schools in the provinces of Iloilo and Guimaras as a part of the Brigada Eskwela 2020 program, which was originally scheduled during the start of classes.
Nevertheless, even with face-to-face classes postponed, the following schools benefited from OPEC Dagyang’s efforts: Adgao-Tagpuan-Ingay Elementary School, Binaliuan Elementary School, Buenavista Elementary School, Bololacao National High School, Venancio Deseda Memorial Primary School, Quintin Salas Elementary School, Cabuagao Elementary School,
and Bo. Obreo Elementary School, all in Iloilo; and Bubog Elementary School and Suclaran Elementary School in Guimaras.
OPEC Gold Dacoda donated several school supplies to 100 students of Km. 31 Talaingod on December 7, 2020. They were able to give out booklets on proper grooming and hygiene, slippers, M Lhuillier bags, art materials, hygiene kits, and other supplies. Parents of the students, teachers, and police officers were also given M Lhuillier towels and shirts. The team
also left educational signages on how to prevent the spread of the coronavirus.
Donation of Signages and School Gates #
Despite the delay of the school-year, OPEC Zambasulta Vinta continued the Brigada Eskwela program. On July 3, 2020, they held a turnover ceremony at the Nangka Elementary School to commemorate the completed construction of the pavement at the school’s entrance, as well as the installation of new school signages.
Meanwhile, OPEC Lakbay donated a school signage, a new gate, and a new computer set for the Cabadiangan Integrated School in Compostela, Cebu on September 23, 2020.
Construction of School Facilities #
On July 22, 2020, OPEC Zambasulta Vinta donated a concrete hand-washing area to the Pasobolong Elementary School. This would help students combat the spread of the coronavirus, as well as promote proper hygiene when they return for face-to-face learning.
Meanwhile, OPEC Lakbai constructed window grills for the classrooms of Bagay Elementary School in Daanbantayan and donated LED signages to the school. The project was turned over on October 9, 2020.
In Danao, OPEC Lakbai donated school signages and a new school fence to the Sandayong Sur National High School, and constructed a school clinic for the Lawaan National High School.
OPEC Kalayaan’s efforts focused on the SHS in San Nicolas III, Bacoor City. They turned over a school entrance gate, a guard house, and an archway on October 29, 2020. They also continued the Brigada Eskwela program and distributed giveaways to school teachers and PTA members.
