M Lhuillier Financial Services, Inc. extends their commitment to help the nation adapt to the new normal with various charitable endeavors.
Through the efforts of OPEC Apo Duwaling’s Operation Tulong, they were able to install protective tarpaulin barriers for 40 jeepney units under the Public Utility Jeepney Association of Barangay Indangan, Davao City in October 2020
The initial positive response from the jeepney drivers of Barangay Indangan also led to the installation of protective barriers for another 16 units, this time for the jeepney drivers of Juliville Buhangin, Davao City in December 2020.
Under the new normal, the Department of Transportation has mandated jeepneys and other public utility vehicles from all over the country to adopt a one-seat apart policy. This was an endeavor to reduce the risk of coronavirus transmission among commuters, while also allowing jeepney drivers to earn a living again.
Having physical barriers is a measure that helps impose social distancing between passengers while keeping them better protected from each other. M Lhuillier opted for barriers made of tarpaulin since the material is stronger and sturdier. It is also easier to clean and disinfect in between uses.
This program was spearheaded by M Lhuillier’s Regional Manager Robert P. Achurra and OPEC Apo Duwaling President Julie Mae Yap, and supported by several Area Managers and OPEC Officers.
Since the onset of the pandemic, M Lhuillier has actively sought ways to help make the new normal more convenient for Filipinos. Their doors have remained opened to provide financial and logistical solutions, from sending and receiving money locally and internationally, granting quick cash loans, giving financial security through insurance policies, and more.
They have also provided COVID-19 assistance to several local communities, installed handwashing stations in public schools, and provided school supplies for underprivileged children.
