2020 might have been a difficult year, but the challenges it brought did not stop Filipinos from celebrating the Christmas season in their own social-distanced ways. M Lhuillier Financial Services, Inc. helped spread the holiday cheer with Bayan Bayanihan spearheaded by OPEC groups from all over the country to give back to local communities.
Noche Buena Packs for Suking KapaMLya #
OPEC Panay Lontian Gems upholds the belief that the foundation of every successful business is customer retention. They strengthened their relationship with their patrons by making Christmas brighter for them.
Throughout the month of December 2020, OPEC Panay Lontian Gems surprised 12 Suking KapaMLyas from the Panay North Region with a special package, which included a sack of rice and other grocery items that would help them celebrate Noche Buena. The recipients expressed their gratitude to M Lhuillier for acknowledging them as loyal customers.
Relief Goods for Remote Households #
In Zamboanga City, OPEC Zambasulta-Vinta focused their charity endeavors to the residents of Sitio Sto. Niño of Barangay Sinunac, a remote mountainous community that can only be reached with an hour’s hike that also involves crossing 21 rivers.
On December 15, 2020, OPEC Zambasulta-Vinta partnered with the Philippine Navy, the Philippine Marine Corps, the Philippine Air Force, the Armed Forces of the Philippines, and the Task Force Zamboanga to visit Sitio Sto. Niño, where they distributed relief packs to 60 households. These packages included sacks of rice, canned goods, and noodles, as well as M
Lhuillier t-shirts and face masks.
With the struggle of visiting the remote sitio, its residents were very appreciative of the time and efforts undertaken by M Lhuillier to provide them with goods in time for the holiday season.
Food Packs for Homeless People #
Meanwhile, OPEC Apo Duwaling made the street individuals of Davao City the beneficiaries of their Bayan Bayanihan drive. They reached out to these homeless people and provided them with decent meals.
They conducted the distribution of food packs on December 22, 2020, making sure to practice safety precautions to reduce the risk of COVID-19 transmission. The event itself was unannounced to prevent crowding, while the actual distribution was done street by street.
OPEC Apo Duwaling hopes that sharing kindness to less fortunate people, be it in a small way like alleviating their hunger for one meal, will encourage them to never surrender in life despite the challenges they endure.
